The new year will bring a new home for the Saint John Region Chamber of Commerce. The business group will move into 1500-square feet of street level space in a Historica Properties building on Prince William Street. Chamber CEO – David Duplisea – says the location holds significant historical value for the group – it is the same city block where the Chamber was formed 201-years ago during a meeting at a then coffee shop on the corner of King and Prince William Streets – and – Duplisea says “two hundred years later – we’re moving back home.”
Historica president – Keith Brideau – says in addition to the ground floor renovations – work will be carried out on upgrades to the exterior of the building and it will be called the “Chamber Building.” The business organization expects to move into the new quarters sometime in June. The Chamber offices are currently located at the intersection of King and Germain Streets.
