Premier Blaine Higgs says all is ready to begin administrating the Pfizer COVID vaccine at the Miramichi Hospital this weekend. The Premier says 1950-invitations have been sent out to front line health workers and seniors complexes in Miramichi – Bathurst – and Moncton. He says nursing home residents will be taken to the hospital to receive the first of two shots on Saturday and Sunday.

Higgs also says another 3900-doses are expected to arrive in the province next week allowing for a clinic to be arranged in Moncton the week of December 28th. The premier says another shipment of 3900-doses are expected the week of January 04th – and – he is expecting regular shipments to begin the week of January 11th.

Chief Medical Officer of Health – Dr Jennifer Russell – say the entire province won’t be vaccinated until around the middle of next year as more vaccines without special handling requirements become available:
