Another jump in the daily number of confirmed COVID cases – Public Health is reporting six new cases today. Here in the Saint John region there is one new case – a person in their forties. Elsewhere – there are two new cases in the Moncton region and three cases in the Edmundston region – all are self-isolating. Three people remain in hospital – two of them in intensive care.

The Edmundston region remains in the Orange Level as efforts continue to contain an outbreak at the local hospital. Chief Medical Officer of Health – Dr Jennifer Russell – says she is cautiously optimistic the region could be moved back to the Yellow Level with a loosening of restrictions before Christmas.

Eight deaths related to COVID complications have been recorded in the province since mid-March.
