
Public Health is confirming three new cases of COVID in the province since yesterday. Two cases are in the Fredericton River Valley region – both travel related involving people in their twenties. The other is in the Miramichi region involving a person in their fifties – that one is under investigation. The Miramichi region is now dealing with 6 active cases – one of which is termed a “presumptive” case of a COVID variant. Public Health has sent a sample to the national lab in Winnipeg and is awaiting the results of the test.
Two people are listed as recovered since yesterday with the number of active cases at 37 across the province – none in the Saint John region. Three people are in hospital – one in intensive care. Twenty-eight deaths have been recorded since the pandemic was declared a year ago.
