A 50 year old man is back in court on Thursday for a bail hearing after entering no plea to a weapons charge in connection with a Sunday standoff on the Lower West Side. David Morrison appeared in court yesterday and remains in custody until his bail hearing.

In an update this afternoon – police now say Morrison was arrested late Sunday morning they attempted to arrest him in a Ludlow Street home in connection with “an ongoing investigation” around 2am. They say Morrison resisted and flashed a weapon. The Emergency Tactical Unit and police negotiators spent the next 9 hours negotiating with the man before moving in around 11:30 and taking him into custody without incident.

Meantime – police have not laid charges in connection with a late afternoon standoff at Charlotte and Duke Streets last Thursday. Police were called after reports of a person with a weapon Three people were taken into custody. In a release – Police Communications Manager – Jim Hennessy – says the incident “remains under investigation.” No one was hurt in that incident.
