A snowfall warning remains in effect for this morning as a major winter storm moves through the region. Snow began falling last evening with 14 cms on the ground at last count and up to 10 cms more expected before the system moves out by mid-day.

The snow and blowing snow are making driving and walking extremely tricky this morning. Schools have been closed for the day and Saint John Transit is delaying the start of its runs until 9 this morning. The Transit service also says Comex routes will not be operating this morning but service will resume this afternoon.

With the gusty winds – the feels like temperature will be in the minus 15 range this morning and minus 7 this afternoon. Tonight and into tomorrow a blast of cold air combined with strong northeast winds will produce feels like temperatures in the minus 22 range overnight and minus 9 by tomorrow afternoon.
