A bit of good news on the COVID front today – only 7 new cases to report since yesterday. Five of the cases are the Edmundston region with one each in the Fredericton River Valley and Moncton regions.
Public Health says 25 people have recovered since yesterday and the number of active cases now stands at 203 including just 8 here in the Saint John area. Seven people are in hospital with two in intensive care. There have been 20 COVID related deaths since the pandemic was declared almost a year ago.
Meantime – Public Health says the outbreak at Le Pavillon Le Royer special care home in Edmundston has been declared over. The outbreak was declared on January 20th following a confirmed case. The outbreak consisted of only one case. All residents and staff have been retested several times to confirm the end of the outbreak.
