The provincial Health Department is going to spend almost 6.5-million dollars in the coming year for work on a new medical and surgical intensive care unit and an oncology unit at the Regional Hospital.
The number is included in the Department’s capital budget for the 2021-22 fiscal year. Among a number of projects receiving funding in the budget is a 32-million dollar addition and renovation project at the Chalmers Regional Hospital in Fredericton.
Just over 44-million dollars will be available for ongoing improvements and equipment purchases at various health care facilities around the province.
