Mayoral candidate Donna Reardon says the police and fire unions are part of the partnership the city needs to continue to push for municipal tax reform.

In an interview with newsysj.ca – Reardon says she wants to work with the fire and police unions to find the best solutions possible. But she says reversing recent budget decisions is off the table. She says the city has tackled the deficit issue and now needs tax reform and growth to increase the revenue stream.

Reardon wants to promote strategic growth “integrated with quality of life for people.” She also says she will be committed to serving a full 4 year term turning aside any offers for future provincial or federal political opportunities. Reardon says “I don’t want to toe a party line.”
