Repairs have been completed to the surface of the Jumpstart section of Rainbow Park in the South End. The surface was damaged earlier this month – and – after consultation with the supplier of the material it was determined the damage was the result of vandalism.
The enhanced playground area was made possible by a donation from the Canadian Tire Jumpstart Charities combined with funding by the City. The warm weather this week made for ideal conditions to do the repair work which is estimated to cost in the $1600 range.
City police have launched an investigation into the vandalism – newsysj.ca checked with police this afternoon for an update on the investigation. We were told there was nothing to report at this time.
