Public Health has declared an outbreak at the Edmundston Regional Hospital after three health care workers tested positive for COVID. An outbreak is declared at a hospital when there is a single lab confirmed case of COVID with potential transmission within the facility.
Both symptomatic and asymptomatic staff and patients at the hospital are being tested. Contact tracing on the confirmed cases is underway.
Visitation to the hospital’s number 2 surgery unit has been suspended until further notice.
