Mass clinics held in Miramichi Thursday – Friday – and yesterday proved to be successful. The clinics for asymptomatic people were set up after a sudden uptick in confirmed COVID cases including two of the U-K variant.

Public Health reports 2434 tests were conducted over the three days. Both Thursday and Fridays’s results did not identify a positive case. There are still some tests to be processed from yesterday’s clinic.

Originally two clinics were planned but the decision was made to add a third clinic yesterday after long line-ups formed the first two days as people waited to be tested. Up until the mass clinics – the Miramichi region has recorded low test numbers compared to other zones in the province.
