Public Health says 9 new cases of COVID have been confirmed since yesterday. Six of the cases are in the Edmundston region – four of the cases are contacts of previously confirmed cases while the other two are under investigation.

The other 3 cases – one each in the Moncton – Fredericton River Valley – and Bathurst regions – are all travel related. Chief Medical Officer of Health – Dr Jennifer Russell – says “We are seeing more travel-related cases and transmission to household members when self-isolation measures are not strictly adhered to, so it is imperative that everyone who is self-isolating continue to do so for the full 14 days. Failure to do so could be putting your loved ones at risk.”

Public Health is listing 4 people as recovered since yesterday with the number of active case now at 158 including 11 here in the Saint John region. Twenty-one patients are now in hospital with 8 of them in intensive care. There hasn’t been a change in the COVID death toll which stands at 33.
