NB Health Minister Dorothy Shephard

The Higgs government is tightening restrictions for people travelling into the province. Health Minister Dorothy Shephard says the restrictions go into place at midnight tonight.

Shephard says anyone entering the province will have to self-isolate for 14-days. Exceptions include those who travel back and forth daily for work – truck drivers – and those travelling for medical care – child care – and child custody. But – these travellers will have to be tested weekly and testing access is being improved to assist with this requirement.

Quebec residents living in communities across the river from Campbellton may still cross the border for medical appointments and child custody arrangements. They may also cross once a week for essentials like groceries but will be subject to mandatory weekly testing as well.

All non-essential travel between zones in the province continues to be discouraged.
