Health Minister Dorothy Shephard has outlined details of the restrictions under the latest version of a complete COVID LOCKDOWN. The Edmundston region goes into LOCKDOWN tonight at 11:59 for a minimum of 14-days.

A number of businesses will have to close while others will remain open but with limited access and sales confined to essential items only. Public libraries will be open for internet access only. People are being encouraged to stay at home unless they have medical appointments or are purchasing essentials like groceries.

Early last week – both Chief Medical Officer of Health – Dr Jennifer Russell – and – Premier Blaine Higgs hinted the Saint John – Moncton – and Fredericton River Valley regions were headed for a LOCKDOWN if COVID case numbers didn’t stabilize. Yesterday – the Health Minister suggested the Saint John and Fredericton River Valley regions case numbers were headed in the right direction and that we may move from RED to Orange by early next week.
