
As the province begins the first series of COVID vaccinations today – the virus is showing no sign of making its presence felt. Public Health is reporting five new cases of COVID today – two of them here in the Saint John region. The local cases are a person in their thirties and a person in their sixties.
The Moncton region is reporting one new case while Edmundston and Bathurst are also reporting one case each. The number of active cases in the province now sits at 49. Three people remain in hospital but only one is intensive care. Eight people have died of COVID complications so far during the pandemic.
The Edmundston area remains in the Orange Level due to the outbreak declared at the local hospital almost two weeks ago.
