It’s now official – Chief Medical Officer of Health Dr Jennifer Russell confirms all zones in the province will move to a recently modified Yellow Level of recovery at 11:59 tonight. Russell says we still have to be vigilant especially with the presence of the COVID variants that are highly contagious.

The move to the Yellow Level means you can expand your “Steady 10” to a “Steady 15” – you can visit venues together including dining out at restaurants. Some of the other changes include sports teams being allowed to play within their league across zones while tournaments within a zone may be permitted subject to approval of an operational plan.

The updated Yellow Level guidelines can be found here.

Public Health is reporting two new cases of COVID today – a person in their thirties in the Fredericton River Valley region which is travel related. The other is a person in their fifties in the Miramichi region. That case is linked to a previously confirmed case.

Two people have recovered since yesterday. The number of active cases sits at 35 including two here in the Saint John region. Three people are in hospital – two of them in intensive care. Twenty-eight deaths have been reported since the pandemic was declared a year ago.
