The Atlantic Institution in Renous and the Dorchester Penitentiary remain COVID free according to the latest figures released by Correctional Services Canada. As of December 23rd – the federal agency says 133-tests have been performed on inmates – the bulk of them at the Dorchester facility – and all have come up negative.

The Stony Mountain Institution in Manitoba is the hotbed of COVID with 311-inmates who have tested positive since the beginning of the pandemic in March. One died of COVID related complications on Sunday. Two other inmates – one in Quebec and the other in British Columbia – have also died after being diagnosed with COVID..
