New Brunswickers will be able to get a rebate on some of their summer vacation costs again this year. The Higgs government is bringing back the Explore NB Travel Incentive program allowing provincial residents to claim some of their expenses while vacationing in the province.

The program was a huge success last year with many New Brunswickers saying they visited areas of the province they would normally over look while providing tourism operators with a much needed business boost during the pandemic. Tourism Minister Tammy Scott-Wallace says “This program has supported many tourism operators throughout the province by allowing them to stay open and generate revenue during the pandemic.”

The government has budgeted $4.5 million for this year’s program.
