A hospital that was turning aside patients because its COVID ward and intensive care units were full – is now in much better shape. The Edmundston Hospital was overflowing during the recent outbreak which forced most of that region into a 10-day LOCKDOWN.
The Vitalite Health Network is reporting there are no patients in the hospital’s COVID unit and its 9 bed intensive care unit is empty as well.
At the height of the crisis when its COVID and intensive care units were at capacity 2 COVID patients were transferred to the Chalmers Hospital in Fredericton. Those patients were later sent back to Edmundston as the situation eased in that hospital.
