Public Health is reporting another big spike in the daily COVID case count. There are 26-new cases confirmed since yesterday – 9 in the Moncton region – 16 in the Edmundston region – and one here in the Saint John region.

Two cases have been confirmed in another Moncton school that will now be closed for three consecutive days beginning today for contact tracing and testing of school staff. That region remains under the RED Level.

Public Health has also identified two COVID cases related connected to the Madawaska Regional Correctional Centre. They tell us the cases are not because of transmission in the facility and so far no inmates have been tested positive. The Edmundston region remains under a LOCKDOWN order.

The number of active cases now stands at 283 – 16 of those here in the Saint John region – with 26-people listed as recovered yesterday. There have been 18-COVID related deaths recorded since the pandemic began last March.
