The death toll from the COVID virus now stands at 17 following the death of a resident in their eighties at an Edmundston nursing home yesterday. The resident died of “underlying complications including COVID-19.” Meantime – 16 new cases have been confirmed in the province since yesterday. Nine of the cases are in the Edmundston region which remains under LOCKDOWN – four of the cases are in the Moncton region which is still at the RED Level – two cases are in the Fredericton River Valley zone – and one case is in the Bathurst region.

All people are self isolating and the cases are under investigation.

The number of active cases now sits at 313 – including 33 here in the Saint John Zone – with 15-people listed as recovered in the past 24-hours. Four people are in hospital with two in intensive care.
