Common Council is expected to approve a staff recommendation for awarding the contract for a Fire Service Review and development of a Fifteen Year Strategic Plan at its meeting tomorrow night.
The staff report is recommending the contract be awarded to Pomax Consulting Inc for a total of $95,800 plus HST. The company was one of two bidders for the job.
The review will look at the risk profile of the community – applicable national standards – and consider the City’s financial position. Part of that outline will include looking at what services provided are core or optional – and – “if there are services better suited or economically advantageous to be done outside the fire department.”
