Public consultation is underway as part of a review of the Official Languages Act. Earlier this year – Premier Blaine Higgs announced the appointment of two commissioners – Judge Yvette Finn and John McLaughlin – to handle the review process and make recommendations in a report to be submitted by December 31st.
You can take part by reviewing details of the process and completing an online questionnaire or submitting comments and suggestions here. Written comments can also be sent to bilingualNBbilingue@gnb.ca or by mail to Bilingual NB – P.O. Box 5658 – Caraquet – NB E1W 1B7. The deadline for comments and suggestions is August 31st.
The Commissioners will also meet virtually with various groups – organizations – and people to discuss and share their thoughts.
