It’s now official – Common Council has given approval to a revised capital budget that includes money for the city’s share of work to prepare the former Coast Guard site for the Fundy Quay development.

The approval comes days after Friday’s announcement of federal and provincial cash for work related to preparing the site for the $300,000,000 development – extension of the Harbour Passage through the development – and a makeover of the Loyalist Plaza. The city’s total share is just over $9,000,000.

Work on site preparation and extension of the sea wall is scheduled to begin this Spring. Fundy Quay Developments president – Dr David Elias – says he expects to begin work on foundation for his development within 24 months.
