The city is getting another 3.6 million dollars to help with expenses and losses suffered as a result of the COVID pandemic. The money is coming through Phase 3 of the federal Safe Restart Agreement to help provinces – territories – and their municipalities restart their economies affected by the global pandemic.

The first phase of the funding saw the province allocate $400,000 to the city for Saint John Transit. Under Phase 2 the city received 3.3 million dollars to offset additional expenses related to COVID.

With the latest allotment – the city will have received just over $7.4 million dollars through the program.
