(UPDATE 8:12pm) Two hikers who became lost on Mount Douglas near Welsford have been re-united with family. Welsford Fire and Rescue crews located the pair and have guided them down to safety. One hiker is reported to have a sprained ankle and is being checked by ANB paramedics.

Welsford Fire and Rescue crews are making their way to find two hikers lost in the Mount Douglas area near Welsford at this hour. Ambulance New Brunswick and the RCMP have responded as well.

One of the hikers has been in contact with 9-1-1 by phone and at last report rescue crews think they have a good idea of their location.

Just a month ago – a hiker was rescued from one of the hiking trails on Mount Douglas after falling and suffering head injuries.
