A “Rainfall Warning” remains in effect for the greater Saint John region – but – the numbers have changed slightly since the warning was issued yesterday. The Saint John area could now receive up to 60 mm of rain throughout today and into tomorrow morning.
Heavy downpours are expected at times during the day – and – that could lead to flash flooding in low lying areas – washouts – and water pooling on roads.
The wind will be in the 30 km/h range gusting to 50 km/h throughout the day becoming light near midnight.
River Watch water flows for the Saint John and Kennebecasis Rivers in our region are predicting water levels just below flood levels through the weekend. If you are living along the rivers or in low lying areas – you should keep checking water levels into the weekend.
So far – there are no reports of any issues – but – you should slow down on the highways to avoid hydro-plaining.
