The provincial government says New Brunswickers turned out in record numbers again yesterday to receive their COVID vaccinations. The government says 14,938 doses were administered around the province yesterday – the highest number ever on a Saturday since the beginning of the vaccine campaign.

The latest figures show more than 82,000 first and second doses of COVID vaccines were administered across the province in the past week – that is the highest 7 day rolling average to date. At the moment – 29.3 percent of New Brunswickers over 12 are fully vaccinated with 2 doses while 77.4 percent of “eligible” New Brunswickers have received their first dose.

Meanwhile – Public Health is reporting one new case of COVID today – a person in their twenties in the Edmundston region and that case is travel related. Public Health also reports 9 people have recovered since yesterday with the number of active cases now at 25 including 3 in the Saint John region. Four people are in hospital – one of them in intensive care. The COVID related death toll remains at 45.
