The number of confirmed cases of the COVID-19 virus continues to increase in the Saint John region. The province’s Chief Medical Officer – Dr. Jennifer Russell – says 11 of the 15 new cases confirmed today are in the Saint John region. No one has been hospitalized so far and the one person who was sent to hospital last week has been released. No new cases have been reported in the Shannex Parkland complex in Millidgeville where four cases were confirmed late last week.

Russell says all cases in the Saint John region have been linked and there is no evidence of community spread at this point.

The other cases in the province include three in the Moncton region and one in the Centreville area of Carleton County.

The Saint John and Moncton regions remain in the Orange Level with a heightened level of restrictions including the wearing of masks at all indoor and outdoor public spaces.
