Health Minister Dorothy Shephard says the provincial vaccination plan is being revised to deal with delays and shortages in quantities of vaccines available. Shephard says details of the revisions will be announced later this week. The minister says we are set to receive 8190 doses of the Pfizer vaccine this week and then 9360 doses each week through to April. After a two week lull – we are scheduled to receive 2400 doses of the Moderna vaccine next week.

The province has received 26,825 doses of Pfizer and Modena vaccines to date with 21,100 doses administered. Shephard says just over 12,000 of the more than 27,000 health care workers in the province have received at least one dose of a vaccine with almost 2000 scheduled to receive their second dose during clinics this week.

Shephard also says just over 3000 of the more than 11,000 residents of long term care homes in the province have received at least one dose of a vaccine. More than 1480 are set to receive their second doses this week.
