Elias says most of the development will consist of retail and mixed residential – but – they are continually assessing options for commercial – cultural – educational – and institutional buildings on the site. He says they will proceed with a phased approach to the development with each phase meeting the demands of market conditions at that time.

Sanaz Shirsheker is an architect engaged by Fundy Quay Developments – she says they imagine the site as a gateway to future cultural and retail attractions – an urban destination. Shirsheker says building heights will vary and placement will take site lines to the water into consideration.

Harbour Passage will be extended around the waterfront edge of the Fundy Quay development while the Loyalist Plaza and Boardwalk will get an overhaul. A pedway will connect Market Square with the Fundy Quay development. Work on site preparation is expected to begin this week.
