Public Health reports only two confirmed cases of COVID today – one person in their forties in the Fredericton Central region and one in the Edmundston area in their seventies. Both are self-isolating and remain under investigation.
The number of active cases in the province has dropped to 81 with three people in hospital – two of them in intensive care units. There have been 7-deaths in the province related to COVID-19 since the pandemic was declared in March.
The Moncton and Fredericton Central regions were moved back to the Yellow Level at midnight last night easing a number of restrictions imposed last month. The Saint John region remains in the Orange Level – but – Chief Medical Officer of Health – Dr Jennifer Russell says she expects the situation will be re-assessed tomorrow. Premier Higgs indicated yesterday he was hoping the region could be moved by to Yellow by the end of the week.
