Labour peace at Saint John Transit following approval of a new year three contract. Members of the Amalgamated Transit Union and the Saint John Transit Commission. The contact was approved by union members on Sunday while the Commission gave its nod late last week. The last contract expired in 2019.

The deal gives the workers a retroactive pay increase of just over one percent for 2020. There is no pay increase this year and in year three of the contract will follow the city’s wage escalation policy approved by council last year and forecast to be 1.75-percent. The balance of contract language remains the same as the previous contract.
