The deadline for nominations to be filed for the May elections is tomorrow at 2pm. As of close of business yesterday – 3 suburban communities only have 1 candidate each for the Mayor’s position.

In Quispamsis – Libby O’Hara has filed her papers offering for Mayor. In Rothesay – incumbent Nancy Grant has filed her papers for another term as Mayor. And in Grand Bay-Westfield – Brittany Merrifield is the only one so far to file her papers for the Mayor’s chair.

In Quispamsis – 9 people have filed papers for the 7 Council seats so far – Jeffrey Kyle – Mike Biggar – Noah Donovan – Kerrie Luck – Wayne MacKenney – Mary Schryer – and incumbents Kirk Miller – Emil Olsen – and Beth Thompson.

In Rothesay – 9 people have also filed so far for the 7 Council seats – former Mayor Bill Bishop – Dave Brown – Lorraine Peters – and incumbents Matt Alexander – Grant Brenan – Peter Lewis – Tiffany Mackay French – Bill McGuire – and Don Shea.

In Grand Bay-Westfield only 5 people have filed papers for the 5 Council seats up for grabs – Jim Balcomb – Stephanie McIntosh Lawrence – Erin Toole – and incumbents John Balemans and Beverley Day.
