
Public Health has confirmed 3 new cases of COVID in the Saint John region since yesterday. Two people are in their sixties while the other is in their seventies. Two of the cases are contacts of a previously reported case while the other is travel related. The Saint John region now has 12 active cases.
Elsewhere – 7 new cases are being reported in the Edmundston region – 5 of the cases are contacts with a previously reported case – one is travel related and the other is under investigation. There is also 1 new case in the Moncton region which is a contact of a previously reported case.
Public Health says 2 people have been listed as recovered since yesterday and the number of active cases today is 150. Twenty people are in hospital with 12 of them in intensive care. Thirty-three COVID deaths have been reported since the beginning of the pandemic over a year ago. The total number of confirmed cases since the pandemic was declared is 1778 with a total of 1594 recoveries.
The city of Edmundston and the Upper Madawaska area remain in LOCKDOWN. Saint-Léonard – Grand Falls – Drummond – New Denmark – and Four Falls are now in the Orange Level. The rest of the province is in the Yellow Level.
