The city is warning people to stay off the ice at Lily Lake. With the relatively mild temperatures so far this winter – the ice isn’t thick enough to safely support people. The city says ice needs to be at least 12-inches thick to be safe. Municipal crews are continuing to check ice conditions and will advise when the ice is safe for activities like skating.
The same warning applies to ice on other lakes – streams – creeks – and rivers in the region.
