A bit of good news on the COVID front locally. Public Health says we have just two confirmed case to report today – a person in their fifties and one in their sixties.

The Moncton and Fredericton Central regions are reporting one case each while the Edmundston region is reporting four new cases – three people in the 19 and under age category and one person in their forties.

Public Health says all are isolating and the cases are under investigation. We now have 111-active cases in the province – however – no one is in hospital. There have been 7-deaths related to COVID since the pandemic was declared in March.

The Saint John – Moncton – and Fredericton Central regions remain under the Orange Level with a number of restrictions in place including mandatory wearing of face masks in all public places – indoors and outdoors. Chief Medical Officer of Health – Dr Jennifer Russell – says they will be re-assessing the Orange Level for the Moncton and Fredericton Central regions on Sunday to determine if they can return to the Yellow phase. The Saint john region will be re-assessed later.
