Nine new cases of COVID are being reported today including one here in the Saint John region. Public Health says it’s a person in their eighties and is travel related.

Meantime – the Moncton region is reporting 1 new case which is a contact of a previously reported case. And in the Edmundston region – six new cases have been confirmed . Four are contacts of previously confirmed cases while two are under investigation.

Six people are listed as recovered since yesterday and the number of active cases is now 141 including 11 here in the Saint John region. Twenty people are now in hospital including 12 in intensive care. The COVID death toll remains at 33.

Public Health also says it is revising the number of confirmed COID cases reported in the province after two cases in the Edmundston region were found to be false positive results. The lab in Moncton is working to determine the cause of the false positives.
