A “Rainfall Warning” has been issued for the Saint John area as another storm moves in our direction. Rain at times heavy is expected to begin early this evening and continue into tomorrow morning. We can expect between 35 and 45 mm of rain overnight. The forecast also states a brief period of snow is possible in some areas as the precipitation begins.

Strong southerly winds gusting up to 80 km/h are expected overnight. The strong wind combined with higher than normal water levels and a high tide will produce “rough pounding surf” overnight along the Fundy coast. Localized flooding in low lying areas is also possible.

The rain will taper to showers tomorrow morning with the system moving out of our area by tomorrow night.
