(UPDATED – victim was a woman) Saint John Police are on the lookout for someone who is impersonating a police officer. Police received a complaint yesterday that a woman was stopped in the North End by a driver operating what appeared to be an unmarked police cruiser. The driver stated he was a police officer.
The woman didn’t believe the would be officer and contacted Saint John Police. She was not injured and police confirm they did not initiate a traffic stop in that area at the time it was reported.
In a release – Police Communications Manager Jim Hennessy says you are “always within your rights to pose any questions when engaging with a member.
