The Higgs government has cleared the way for children between 12 and 17 to receive their first dose of the Pfizer COVID vaccine. Appointments can be booked for Horizon or Vitalite Health Network clinics or through a participating pharmacy.

Those over 16 can book their own appointment while those between 12 and 15 must have the consent of a parent or guardian. A consent form is available online and copies will be available at Regional Health Authority clinics.

Meantime – those over 55 who received AstraZeneca as a first dose at least 8 weeks ago are now eligible to receive a second dose. This will be done with the “informed consent” of those who are eligible. There is a limited supply of the AstraZeneca vaccine. Appointments must be made for Regional Health Authority clinics or participating pharmacies. Just click the links above.
