The hunt continues for one of two men involved in what could have been a tragic supper time incident in Fredericton last night. Police say they responded to a call of two men going through vehicles in a parking lot in the College Hill Road area around 5:30pm.

As police arrived the two jumped into a SUV and rammed the first cruiser on the scene on the passenger side before leaving. The police officer in the cruiser wasn’t injured.

The SUV proceeded to Prospect Street – a busy commercial area – where it hit a number of vehicles along the way. Police caught up with the SUV on Prospect Street and managed to get it stopped but the suspects jumped out and ran. One man was arrested a short time later and taken to the lock-up.

The second is still on the loose and is described as Caucasian in his late twenties or early thirties and was wearing all black clothing. Police say he may have suffered an injury to his left leg.

Luckily no injuries were reported and police say there is no risk to public safety.
