Public Health reports 9 new cases of COVID confirmed since yesterday. Two are here in the Saint John region – a person in their forties and one in their fifties. Both cases are under investigation.

One new case has been confirmed in the Moncton region which is linked to a previously confirmed case while one new case has been confirmed in the Fredericton River Valley region which is travel related.

And 5 new cases have been confirmed in the Edmundston region with four of those cases contacts of previously confirmed cases while the other is under investigation. Edmundston and the Upper Madawaska region were placed in LOCKDOWN at 11:59 last night as the region deals with an ongoing outbreak of the U-K variant of the COVID virus.

Five people are listed as recovered since yesterday and the number of active cases now stands at 148 including 7 here in the Saint John region. There are 115 active cases in the Edmundston region. Twenty people are in hospital – 13 of them in intensive care. COVID has claimed 33 New Brunswickers since the pandemic was declared over a year ago.
