It’s just in time for the Family Day holiday weekend – the frigid temperatures have thickened the ice on Lily Lake in Rockwood Park making it safe for public skating. The ice is measuring 12-inches thick in several locations – but – you are being asked to pay attention to any warning signs on and around the ice. Springs emptying into the lake prevent strong ice from forming in some areas.
You must wear a mask and maintain physical distancing from those not in your “Bubble.” Dogs must always remain on leash.
City crews will monitor the ice conditions and may need to close the lake to skating if conditions change.
