Horizon Health says it has an urgent need for staffing at the Saint John Regional Hospital as well as assessment centres here in Saint John and in Fredericton thanks to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Horizon tweeted a call for retirees – students – and members of the community today to assist with the outbreak should the need arise. And in an email statement to newsysj.ca – Chief Human Resource Officer – Maura McKinnon says Horizon “is seeking interest from its clinical and non-clinical staff who are interested in volunteering for a 15-day deployment to the Regional Hospital or the assessment centres. This call applies to a variety of staff, including registered nurses, licensed practical nurses, respiratory therapists, personal care attendants, medical laboratory assistants, and administrative staff.

To help with the staffing issue – McKinnon says they were expecting to hire 20-additional people today.
