A new poll shows the popularity of Premier Blaine Higgs and his government remains consistent with pre-election results. The poll by Narrative Research pegs the approval rating for the Higgs government at 72-percent compared to 76-percent in August. The polling firm says the high approval rating likely reflects the public’s general satisfaction the government’s handling of the pandemic.
The poll numbers found those whose mother tongue is English are generally more satisfied with the Conservatives than Francophones – 77-percent to 64-percent.
Higgs’ personal popularity with 39-percent of those responding satisfied with the Premier while Interim Liberal Leader Roger Melanson is preferred by 17-percent of those asked. Green Party Leader David Coon came in with 16-percent support.
The poll of 800 people was conducted between November 05th and 22nd and is considered accurate to within plus or minus 3.5-percent – 95 out of 100 times. Narrative Research is a Halifax based public opinion and market research company.
