UPDATE – May19-21 2:37pm – The Major Crime Unit of the Saint John Police Force is now investigating the fire which left one of the buildings at the historical site with extensive damage. In an email – Police Communications Manager Jim Hennessy says anyone who may have information related to the fire to call Saint John Police at 506-648-3333 or CrimeStoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
An investigation is underway into the cause of a fire at the Fort La Tour historical development along Harbour Passage. Fire crews received the call around 2:30 this morning. Flames were shooting from the roof of the main building.
Fire fighters worked to quickly snuff out the flames – but – the building did suffer heavy damage as a result of the fire.
