A 5 year old boy suffering from liver failure will have a dream come true. Make A Wish Canada is hosting “A Parade For James” tomorrow morning shortly after 9.
The youngster’s wish is to have a parade of police vehicles – fire trucks – construction vehicles – cars – and bikes in his honour.
Make A Wish Canada is working with first responders – emergency workers – City of Saint John crews – and local businesses to make the wish a reality.
The parade will form up along University Avenue and Sandy Point Road then proceed up the Regional Hospital entrance off University Avenue honking and waving to James. You can join in making the little guy’s wish special – details are below.
DETAILS:
First Responders, Emergency Vehicles and Corporate Vehicles are encouraged to come up Sandy Point Road between 9:00-9:15am. Take the left onto University Avenue and the first vehicles will line up in the right-hand lane, at the bottom of the entrance to the Regional Hospital along University Avenue across from Canadian Blood Services.
Members of the Saint John Police Force will be on hand coordinating traffic, so we remind the public to please take the lead from officers in the area of the parade.
Citizens taking part in the parade can begin lining up along Sandy Point Road on the right-hand side across from Cedar Crest Gardens. Once the parade begins to move, officers will direct the vehicles on Sandy Point Road onto University Avenue.
The parade route will ask vehicles to take the road up to the Regional Hospital off University Avenue. When vehicles reach the top of the hill, they will turn left and James will be in that area.
Please honk, wave to James and then proceed to the first stop sign.
At that stop sign, turn left and proceed back down the hill onto University Avenue and then turn right and carry on with your Saturday.
We remind everyone that COVID-19 protocols are being followed closely. Please stay in your vehicle and keep a mask handy if you should have to roll down your window for instructions/directions.
