A $95,800 dollar contract to do a complete review of the City’s Fire Service and develop a 15 year Strategic Plan has been approved by Common Council. Pomax Consulting Inc will also develop a 30 year plan for future fire station locations.

The review will look at the risk profile of the community – applicable national standards – and consider the City’s financial position. Part of that outline will include looking at what services provided are core or optional – and – “if there are services better suited or economically advantageous to be done outside the fire department.”

City Manager John Collin says the review will be completed by the end of this year. The staff report on the review can be found in the Council package here.
